Exams Ending at the Hospital

It started last night.

I was watching TV and was about to go to bed. But I turned in my seat and managed to hit my hand (while it was bent) into my knee!!! You should have heard the three massive cracks.

It hurt SO much.

I didn't know what to do because I had an exam today.

My last and most important one.

So I didn't go to the hospital straightaway although I was 110% positive it was broken.

I fell asleep after a while and when I woke up this morning it was swollen and blue. I took a really strong pain killer which (in addition to my allergy pills) made me really drowsy. It didn't work either.

So I pushed myself to go to school.
We got to use computers which made it worse for me today as it hurts to use my hand :(.

I got through the exam (even though I was really drowsy and in a LOT of pain) and went straight to the emergency room afterwards.

I waited 1 hour to see the doctor and was sent to get an x-ray.

I went to see the doctor again and she said that it wasn't broken.

I didn't understand. It hurts so much, I was certain it was broken.

So I left the hospital after being there for 3 hours.

I was relieved. But I was also extremely tired and confused. I didn't want it to be broken but I was so certain.

But it wasn't over...

In the car I got a phone call. The hospital asked me to come back.

Another specialist had seen my x-rays and wanted to take a CT scan of my hand.

I went back.
And I thought to myself, "I knew it!"

I took the CT and got the results again.
It wasn't broken this time round either.

They put an elastic bandage on it and said that it'll get better. (Btw look at my blue fingers... The nurse wrapped it reeaaally tight!!)

So I spent 4 hours in the hospital to learn that my excruciatingly painful wrist is not broken. Twice.

I know I should believe them.
I just don't.

I've broken so many bones and this is what it feels like. Plus it takes 5 days for some bone injuries to show up on the x-rays.

But I'm grateful.
I can practice driving.
I can go swimming when we go to Italy.
I can shower without a bag.
I can make jewelry. (!!!!!)

I can't continue as normal straight away as I'm still in too much pain...
But I'm not going to be stuck for 6-13 weeks (I take a looong time to heal).

Aaaand I don't have any more exams left!!!! :D

Plus! I've reached 50 followers! You guys have made my day!!

THANK YOU!! <3

Fresh From the Oven Made for Your Fingers or Ears?

It is SUCH relief to be DONE with math for the year (and maybe for the rest of my life!?) :D

    ---

I made some jewelry a couple of days ago, and I thought I'd show it to you!

I've made a new kind of necklace! It's super-cool! I haven't finished it yet, as I need to make the necklace part, but it'll be strung like the picture above.

    What do you think?

I'm planning on making lots of them in lots of different colours!
Do you have any colour preferences?
Let me know - your wish is my command! ;)

I also made some new doughnuts.
I haven't decided if I'm making them into rings or earrings yet.

    These earrings(?) match these rings

    These match these rings

    What do you think?
Do you prefer them as doughnuts or as earrings? Or both?

Maybe I should make these into rings as I have
a similar pair of earrings here? They'd match ;)

I think I'll make them into a ring or earrings when I get orders, so that I have whatever you want ready.

And which sprinkles do you like the best?
Are there any other colour-combos you'd like for the sprinkles?
Let me know! -You'll make my day! :D

So just order up - they're ready to be shipped..
    FRESH from the oven ;)

(And go ahead and pre-order the funky necklace - there will be lots to come!)

    What does Katrine mean?

I found this on a website (I can't remember where) a couple of years ago, and I thought I'd share it with you!

I've commented on the meaning below.

    What Katrine Means

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

    source
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

    source
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

    ---

I kind of agree with most of this. However, I'm not a perfectionist, though I strive to do my best and I don't hand anything in until I know I've done my best on it. My impulses do not get me into trouble (haha). I am definitely not a huge rebel. I get mad and stick up for someone when they're treated poorly, but who doesn't? Also, I'm not tightly wound - I'm pretty crazy ;)

It's very easy to get me happy, energetic, excited and hyper ;D It's very true that my biggest problem is finishing the projects I start. It's really funny, because I reaaaally go overboard in interpreting signals!!-Haha, this is quite spot on!

What does your name mean? :)

Ps. My name is pronounced Katrina because in Norwegian you pronounce the e, so Katrina is closer to my name than Katrin :) I prefer the way my name is spelled to Katrina :)

(Sorry the font is huge, I'm having some technical issues. Bear with me!!)

City of Blinding Lights by U2

The more you see, the less you know
The less you find out as you go
I knew much more then than I do now

    Neon heart day-glow eyes
    A city lit by fireflies
    They're advertising in the skies
    For people like us

And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

    Don't look before you laugh
    Look ugly in a photograph
    Flash bulbs purple irises
    The camera can't see

    I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?

    (cut)

And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

    Time...time...time...time...time
Won't leave me as I am
But time won't take the boy out of this man

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

The more you know the less you feel
    Some pray for others steal
Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel... luckily

    ---
This is one of my favourite songs.
    I love the band U2.

I think of Dubai whenever I listen to this song.
I love the lyrics and melody.

I've written an analysis of this song, and I'll be posting it soon :)

    Do you like it?
What do you like to listen to?
When you listen to music, do you listen to the lyrics or the music - or both (like me)?
